January-February

The past few months had been a whirlwind! The boys have grown and changed so much. Lincoln has three teeth and is working on a fourth…teething has been a miserable process for him (and us too!) Paxton is captivated by music…he has great rhythm and can often be seen rocking back and forth to the beat.

They both are on the move and we are in TROUBLE!!! We have seen a fast progression from rolling across the floor to army crawling. We have seen a small glimpse of the constant action that will soon consume our lives. These boys absolutely love interacting…they make each other laugh daily and it is hysterical to watch.

December 2008

December seemed to fly by! We took the boys to see Santa and start an annual tradition…they did really well and the wait was only 5 minutes! Over the Holidays, we spent a lot of special time with family. We had a WONDERFUL time celebrating Christmas with both of our families. It was really fun for Chad and I to spend our boy’s first Christmas watching them take it all in. They didn’t really seem to care about the presents they received (yet!), but they enjoyed the wrapping paper and the constant excitement and movement in the room. The absolute joy of Christmas for me was was watching them play and interact with their cousins Carson and Bracken.

Nor Cal Trip

At the beginning of December, we flew up to Sacramento to visit Chad's Parents and to see my brother Nick run a marathon. It was the boy's first airplane flight and they did a great job...charming many TSA agents, flight attendants and fellow passengers.

Fall 2008

This Fall was very fun for Chad and I as parents…the boys started to smile and laugh! I really enjoyed seeing the boys recognize us when we would enter the room, they went from little cute “blobs” to amazing little “interacters” literally overnight.

We attempted to get a picture of the boys with Pumpkins to start a yearly Fall family tradition. It was hard to get Lincoln to smile and it was even harder to keep Paxton from crying…we finally got a few “good” picture and a ton of ones we think are funny (in retrospect!)

38 Weeks Pregnant

I was blessed with a completely problem-free pregnancy and carried the boys to 38 weeks! We were MORE THAN ready to deliver them…I was HUGE :-) Chad and I were so excited to meet our boys that we could not sleep the night before...little did we know how precious "sleep" would become!

We delivered at Loma Linda and it was nice because Chad was on his home turf. I guess after 4 years of Medical School and 1 year of Residency, you are treated like royalty. Our Hospital room was constantly full of fellow residents, nurses, grandparents and many friends! I was induced the morning of June 2nd and after 20 hours of labor ended up having them via C-section at 5:03 and 5:05 am on June 3rd.

We have the most amazing OB/GYN and Pediatrician! Chad loved working with them as a student and knew we would love being their patients…I can’t express how thankful we are for such great doctors who love and take care of us!

And it begins...

I have thought about creating a blog many times over the past few years, yet have not actually done it until now! We figured now that we have kids, we need a way to share pictures and stories with our family and friends. No Pressure, but I figured we need some sort of accountability/motivation to actually get the blog started...so we included the address in our Christmas Card :-) Over the next few days, I hope to post pictures and highlights of our life with Lincoln and Paxton
